New Delhi:
Australian skipper Michael Clarke always preferred playing for the country over the cash-rich Indian Premier League. But if reports are to be believed, he may play for the Sahara Pune Warriors after the West Indies series.
Sourav Ganguly, Pune Warriors coach and captain, told a leading national daily that Clarke was in negotiations with the franchise.
"We're on the verge of signing Clarke... However, he will be available from May," Ganguly told an Indian newspaper.
Clarke is being offered a one-month contract that would see him joining the team on May 1.
With the season starting in the middle of Australia's tour of the West Indies on April 4, Clarke would only be available to play in the Warriors' final eight matches of the season.
