New Delhi:

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has welcomed the decision of Duncan Fletcher becoming the next Indian coach but said it would be the local media that will pose the biggest challenge for him.

"Duncan fletcher appointed India Coach on a 2 yr deal. Great coach who will work well with Dhoni," Vaughan wrote on his Twitter account.

"Duncan will work well with all the talent.. His biggest challenge will come from the media..he has never really understood how it works," he added.

Harsha Bhogle, cricket expert and commentator, said the key to Fletcher's success will depend on how he embraces the country.

"Don't know Fletcher at all. Never met him. For a long time he was only the answer to a quiz question on the oz-zim world cup game in 83," Bhogle tweeted.

"Nasser Hussain speaks highly of him. We'll just have to wait and see. The key to Fletcher's success here will lie in whether he is willing to embrace the country. Everything else follows," Bhogle added.

However, former India player Sanjay Manjrekar said, "it does not matter so much to me, who the coach is, as long as Dhoni is the captain".

Fletcher on Wednesday has been appointed as the Indian coach for the next two years. His term with the Indian team will begin after the West Indies tour.
