New Delhi:
West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith will join the Mumbai Indians squad on Thursday as a replacement for Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson.
The Australian fast bowler was ruled out to play IPL by Cricket Australia due to a foot injury that he had sustained in November last year.
Since then he has not played for the Australian team. During the IPL auction, Mumbai Indians had bought him for $300000.
Smith, on the other hand, had remained unsold in the auction with a base price of $100000. He had started his IPL career with Mumbai in 2008. In 2009 he was taken by the Deccan Chargers.
