Delhi Daredevils put their campaign back on track after a thrilling 4-run win (DLS method) over Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League clash on Wednesday. In a run-truncated match, Rajasthan were chasing 151 runs in 12 overs and got off to a flier with Jos Buttler hammering the Delhi bowlers all over the park. Buttler hit 67 runs off 26 runs with seven maximums and 4 boundaries. D Arcy Short (44) gave some glimmer of hope in the latter stages but Delhi bowlers were right on the money. Trent Boult (2/26) was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi. (SCORECARD)Â
Earlier, skipper Shreyas Iyer and stumper Rishabh Pant smashed rollicking half-centuries to power Delhi Daredevils to a massive 196/6 in 17.1 overs against Rajasthan Royals in a rain-truncated Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Ferozshah Kotla here on Wednesday. Pant (69 off 29 balls; 4x7, 6x5) and Iyer (50 off 35; 4x3, 6x3) capitalised on a brilliant start by teenaged sensation Prithvi Shaw (47 off 25 balls; 4x4, 6x4) as Delhi overcame the early loss of opener Colin Munro in the opening over. After heavy rain delayed the start of play by one and a half hours, resulting in the match being reduced to 18 overs a side, pacer Dhawal Kulkarni provided the visitors a perfect start with the wicket of the Kiwi, caught behind on a duck. Rajasthan's ploy of opting to field after winning the toss, was however soon dismissed by the 18-year-old Prithvi, who combined with his skipper to smoke 73 runs for the second wicket in mere 40 balls.

Update 2325 local - So the news is that, Maxwell's wicket was the last of Delhi's innings. Play will resume at 2330 and the match will be a 12-over game. The target for Rajasthan is 151! Harsh?
Update 2315 local - Good news, folks! The covers are now coming off slowly and rain has stopped for now. Trent Boult and the other guys are seen practicing their bowling. We presume that this will be the end of the first innings. We will keep you posted of further details.
So, let's have a little recap of the innings. Delhi will be quite happy with how much they have on the board. After being put into bat, Munro was dismissed in the very first over by Dhawal, but then Shaw and Iyer started firing away. The former got out 3 short of a fifty, but the skipper continued the onslaught with Pant. The two blazed past their fifties, securing a mammoth 92-run stand between them. Unadkat then got the both of them in a single over, and then struck again in his next to get rid of Shankar. That somewhat pulled things back, but Delhi still will feel like the happier side. Now, it remains to be seen for how long the rain continues. Stay tuned for further updates...
Update 2300 local - So, Maxwell has been given out and the covers are on. The rain is back to ruin all of our nights. Expect the innings break to declared shortly.
OUT! Very strange from Maxwell. The way he took the review seemed like he got a definite inside edge, but nothing of that sort. In the blockhole from Archer on leg, Maxwell misses his flick and gets struck low on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Maxwell decides to take it upstairs. Replays show us that there was no wood on it and the ball would have crashed into the leg stump.
As we wait for the third umpire, the rain has started to get heavier and the players have gone off the field.
A review for LBW has been taken up. Maxwell is the man concerned but he thinks he has got an inside edge to it as he straightaway opts for the review.
Hits this hard to point but finds the man there. Quickly gets to the other end to keep strike for the last over.
The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. They pick up a single.
Slow ball outside off, Plunkett cannot put bat to ball.
