19:10 hrs IST: Good evening and welcome to the coverage of the 24th match of the Indian Premier League season 9. Mumbai Indians take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede stadium tonight. Gautam Gambhir led KKR are sitting comfortably on second spot with four wins in five games. But the thing to be noticed is that they lost their solitary game against MI only (two weeks back), so it's a no brainer that they'll eye revenge tonight. On the other hand, MI have just three victories in their seven matches so far and will look to get back to winning ways.ÂÂ

Form and consistency can really go for a toss in the IPL. If the 2016 season is anything to go by so far, Kolkata Knight Riders look the most settled side with a good balance between batsmen and bowlers. Yet their only defeat in IPL 2016 has come against Mumbai Indians and that too at home, Eden Gardens.
Mumbai Indians have hardly played like defending champions this year. They lie fifth in the standings with six points from seven matches. Of the three wins they have had so far, one of their better victories came against KKR on April 13. MI chased down a target of 188 with Rohit Sharma leading the way with an unbeaten 84 and Jos Buttler scoring a 22-ball 41.
This will be a grudge game for Gautam Gambhir's KKR. Interestingly, Mumbai have a telling record against Kolkata in IPL. They have won a dozen times out of the 17 contested between MI and KKR. Between them, they have also won four IPL titles.
Rohit's form has been central to MI's performance this season. Ambati Rayudu has given some solidity to the middle-order and Parthiv Patel showed streaks of form with a 58-ball 81 against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. This after Rohit scored a second-ball duck.
Having beaten Rising Pune Supergiants in their last match, KKR will be upbeat. Suryakumar Yadav played a solid hand in the KKR with a 49-ball 60 after Gambhir was run out for 11. Yusuf Pathan's 36 helped KKR cross the line with two wickets to spare.
This will be Mumbai Indians last match at fortress Wankhede. A Bombay High Court order, upheld by the Supreme Court, will put MI on the road for the whole of May.
