Mumbai Indians are the only team to have beaten Kolkata Knight Riders this season and that too at the Eden Gardens. MI chased down a challenging target of 188 with Rohit Sharma leading the way with an unbeaten 84 and Jos Buttler scoring a 22-ball 41.
Having lost to MI by six wickets on April 13, this will be a grudge game for Gautam Gambhir's men who have played smart cricket so far with four wins from five matches.
Ironically, this will be Mumbai Indians' last game at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. The defending champions will now be on the road for the rest of the tournament after the Supreme Court upheld the Bombay High Court decision to move all IPL games out of drought-hit Maharashtra after the May 1 game between Rising Pune Supergiants and MI in Pune.
The MI vs KKR contest could boil down to a match-up between Mumbai's batsmen and Kolkata's spinners. In Wankhede, KKKR have beaten MI only once (2012) in six matches.
