The Rising Pune Supergiants batsman will be out for six weeks
Rising Pune Supergiants have received a massive blow after batting mainstay Faf du Plessis was ruled out of Indian Premier League 2016 due to a broken finger.
This is the second big setback to the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team. They had earlier lost former England star Kevin Pietersen. Du Plessis will be out for six weeks.
South Africa's T20 captain Du Plessis was Rising Pune Supergiants second highest scorer with 206 runs in six matches. He had scored back-to-back fifties to against Gujarat Lions and Kings XI Punjab.

The absence of Du Plessis and Pietersen is likely to hurt Dhoni's calculations. RPS are languishing in the sixth position in the eight-team table. They have won just two matches out of six played. Pune had thrashed defending champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL's first game on April 9.
