The IPL knockouts will see the top two teams on the points table play in the first qualifier. The winner of this game will advance to the final. The next fixture - the eliminator - will be between the third and fourth-placed teams on the table. The loser of this game will be knocked out while the winner will have to play the loser of the first eliminator in the second qualifier. The winner of this will advance to the final where they will take on the winner of the first qualifier.
Following their crushing nine-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians finished in the second spot and will face MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. The winner of this clash will advance to the final.
Virat Kohli's RCB, who have had a topsy-turvy season, finished third after their final group-stage game vs Delhi Daredevils was washed out. They face Steve Smith's Rajasthan Royals at the MCA Stadium in Pune on May 20. The winner of this game will play the loser of the first qualifier on May 22nd at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The winner of this will advance to the final, to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24.
