11.46: What an exceptional final over! Kieron Pollard was handed the responsibility of defending 12 runs and he does that with some style! Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by five runs to keep their playoff hopes alive!
11.36: FIFTY for Yusuf Pathan! What a monstrous six off Malinga to get there! What a knock he's playing here! Kolkata 160/6 in 19 overs, need 12 runs in one over.
11.32: What a game this is turning out to be! Yusuf Pathan (44) is waging a lone battle here. KKR need 21 to win off 12 balls.
11.15: Yusuf Pathan and Surya Kumar Yadav collect 14 runs off Vinay Kumar's over. KKR 144/5 (17 overs), now need 28 to win off 18 balls.
11.14: Another one bites the dust! Lasith Malinga has removed the dangerous Andre Russell! The big West Indian went for a big, booming drive but played away from his body. An outside edge is easily taken by Parthiv Patel. Onus now completely Yusuf Pathan.
11.06: BIG WICKET! Shakib al Hasan is gone! What a breakthrough for Mumbai. Shakib was looking to play another uppish pull but couldn't time it well! Hardik Pandya (who dropped a dolly of Gambhir earlier) took a good, running catch from deep midwicket. Shakib is gone for 23. KKR 118/4 (14.2 overs) v MI

10.47: BOWLED! Gambhir is gone! He dances down the track but Suchith dished out a flatter ball that ended up being a yorker and struck the leg stump. KKR 88/3 (11 overs)
10.46: KKR reach 74/2 (10 overs) with Gambhir (31), Yusuf (13) in the middle. Need 98 to win off 60 balls.
10.28: Another wicket! Oh dear, Kolkata are throwing a good start away. A bit of a mix-up has led to the fall of Manish Pandey. Lendl Simmons' excellent direct hit from short fine leg finds Pandey short of his crease. Mumbai 46/2 (5.5 overs)
10.20: OUT! Robin Uthappa departs for 25. He attempted a sweep off Harbhajan but a leading edge is taken by Lasith Malinga at short fine leg. Mumbai 45/1 (5.3) v Kolkata
10.09: A breezy start from Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa here. They've raced away to 20/0 (3 overs)
09.57: Lasith Malinga starts off the proceedings for Mumbai Indians. Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir open the batting for Kolkata.

09.40: Mumbai Indians finish on 171/4 thanks to Hardik Pandya's fabulous unbeaten knock of 31-ball 61. What a knock from the youngster. Mumbai Indians hold the aces at the moment.
09.36: Sensational from Hardik Pandya! He brings up his maiden IPL fifty with a six off Andre Russell. It has come in just 25 balls. Mumbai 158/4 (19 overs)
09.25: Is this the over that changes things for Mumbai? Hardik Pandya smashes four successive boundaries off Umesh Yadav. Mumbai 130/4 (17 overs). How much more can they fetch in the last three overs?
09.15: SIX! Pollard looking to shift gears here! He comes down the track and launches Narine for a six over long on. Mumbai 105/4 (15.1 overs)

21.11: Rohit Sharma fell but not without a unique stat to his name.
Rohit Sharma has become the only batsman to score 500+ runs against KKR in the IPL. Raina has scored 619 runs against them in all T20s. #ipl

21.00: WHAT A BALL! Rohit Sharma is bowled by Sunil Narine! There are very few times in this batsman-crazy tournament when bowlers make you stand up and applaud. This wicket was one such moment. Rohit has been absolutely bamboozled by a peach-of-a-carrom-ball from Narine that pitched on middle stump and beat Rohit's bat to clip top of off-stump. Mumbai 79/4 (11.4 overs)
20.55: FOUR! Pollard gets a move on! He pulls a Andre Russell delivery for four. Mumbai 73/3 (11 overs)
20.52: At the halfway stage, Mumbai Indians reach 67/3 (10 overs) vs Kolkata Knight Riders with Rohit Sharma (24) and Pollard (3) in the middle.
20.44: The KKR spinners have strangled the MI batsmen here. Rohit Sharma looks to break the shackles and smashes two fours off Piyush Chawla to ease some pressure. Mumbai 59/3 (9 overs)
20.33: Mumbai in trouble here! Two quick wickets for the Kolkata Knight Riders. First Lendl Simmons miscues a cut shot and ends up lobbing the ball to Manish Pandey at point and then Ambati Rayudu takes the aerial route off Shakib, only to find Andre Russell at deep extra cover. Rohit Sharma has a massive task at hand now. Mumbai 48/3 (7 overs)
20.22: Rohit Sharma is the new man in and he begins with a cut shot to beat the point fielder. Mumbai would love for their skipper to play a big knock today.

20.20: OUT! Parthiv Patel is gone! His stroke-filled innings is brought to an early end. He dances down the track to Shakib and flicks uppishly, but straight to Manish Pandey at deep mid-wicket. Mumbai 29/1 (4.2 overs)
20.15: Parthiv and Lendl Simmons are living dangerously but have lived on to die another day. Despair for Morkel & Co. Mumbai 25/0 (4 overs)
20.05: Decent start from Umesh. Parthiv Patel got the Mumbai innings going with a four by smartly opening the face of the bat and guiding the ball behind point. The outfield seems pretty quick. Mumbai Indians 6/0 (1 over)
20.01: Umesh Yadav starts the proceedings for Kolkata. The Indian pacer has 9 wickets in 10 games so far at an economy rate of 8.82. Against the Sunrisers, he set up the game with two wickets in his very first over. Can he put on another stellar show today? We'll have to wait and watch.
07.58: KKR players form their huddle and then run onto the ground as Parthiv Patel and Lendl Simmons walk out together. A fascinating tie coming up.
07.54: News coming in is that Mumbai Indians have roped in England's explosive opener Alex Hales as a replacement for the injured Corey Anderson for the remainder of the IPL. Of course, Hales cannot feature today. If MI advance to playoffs - and that is a big if - Hales could prove to be a handy acquisition. For now, the focus remains on today's task at hand of denying KKR a chance of going top.
07.47: Ahead of the all-important clash, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir were seen rekindling some old memories.
Just like old times - @GautamGambhir @sachin_rt #IPL https://t.co/T6EAZ9RKmh
- IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) May 14, 2015
07.44: Interesting punt from KKR to drop Brad Hogg to rope in Shakib. The Bangladesh all-rounder perhaps, a bit more to offer with the bat.
Here's the Playing XI for tonight's game! This is surely gonna be a thriller! Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo! #Go4More #MIvsKKR pic.twitter.com/WmECEfcQUR

07.34: Shakib al Hasan and Morne Morkel are back for the two-time champions Kolkata. Mumbai Indians include Vinay Kumar for Jasprit Bumrah.
Just one change going into this crucial match. @Vinay_Kumar_R replaces Bumrah. #MI are batting 1st. #ApunKaSuperstar pic.twitter.com/WwYGG1hhqo

07.34 IST: KKR WIN TOSS, OPT to BOWL vs MI
06.33 IST: With just a handful of matches to go, the race to the playoffs is getting intense. Can Mumbai Indians win today and stay alive? Or will KKR usurp CSK and take top spot?

As we head into the business end of the Indian Premier League 2015, every win or loss will have a massive impact on the fate of several teams in the lead-up to the playoffs.
Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians are currently languishing at sixth spot with 12 points from 12 games. Only a win against second-placed Kolkata Knight Riders today will keep their playoff dreams alive. The task is tough but Mumbai are no pushovers. In the 2014 season, the team needed five wins on-the-trot to seal a playoffs spot and they achieved the unthinkable.
"[The KKR] Game is almost like a final. It becomes the most important game for us in the tournament. That's the way we will approach the match," said Mumbai Indians head coach Ricky Ponting.

As for the Kolkata Knight Riders, the prospect of going top of the points table with a point more than MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings will spur Gambhir & Co. on.
Can Mumbai kick-start another unbelievable run-of-wins? Or will KKR's supremacy on the points table continue?
