Looking back: IPL-7 Results
In 2014, Mumbai Indians pulled off a stunning run-chase to sneak into the top-four just in the nick of time. Mumbai had won seven and lost as many in the group stage of the tournament. In the play-offs, they were knocked out by a superior Chennai Super Kings side.
Looking forward: IPL-8
Having retained the core of their successful unit, Mumbai Indians made a couple of smart buys in Kiwi bowling all-rounder Mitchell McClenaghan and Indian pacer Vinay Kumar, who had a successful domestic season. Having let Michael Hussey go, Mumbai beefed up their opening slot with inclusions of Aaron Finch and Parthiv Patel and already have Lendl Simmons who scored a century last season.
Prediction:
Another top four finish in the offing. With a strong squad, Mumbai will be eager to go one step ahead and make the final.
