The India versus West Indies series has made headlines for the wrong reasons but from a cricketing point of view, Team India's domination in the 50-over format has once again been reiterated. Following their 59-run win in Dharamsala on Friday night, India clinched the truncated five-match ODI series 2-1. India have won six successive bilateral series versus the West Indies in ODIs since January 2007. (Sri Lanka fill in as West Indies pullout)
Playing only their second ODI at Dharamsala, India (330/6) scored the first total of 300 or more at HPCA Stadium, outstripping England's 227 for three against India on January 27, 2013. West Indies' 271 is now the highest losing total in an ODI at this picturesque venue. West Indies' highest total while chasing successfully in ODIs is 300 for three in reply to South Africa's 297 for four at Centurion on February 1, 2004.
India's total is their fifth highest versus West Indies in ODIs, the highest being 418 for five at Indore on December 8, 2011. India became the first team to reach 300 or more in ODIs 80 times.
