India and West Indies are locked 1-1 in the series after the third ODI was called off owing to Cyclone Hudhud that wrecked parts of Andhra Pradesh. Vizag, the venue of the third match was the worst hit and the BCCI, paying heed to government warnings had called off the match despite little time to reschedule.
Back after a six-day break, when India stormed back to win in Delhi, both sides would be rejuvenated. The scenic beauty of Dharamsala should spur up the cricketers further. The curator has promised a fast pitch and with low temperatures, pacers from either side would be itching to have a crack at batsmen. nThis series has given both India and West Indies the chance to spruce up their plans and strategies ahead of the World Cup. While India are relieved to see Virat Kohli back in form, the visitors would like their senior cricketers step up a lot more, irrespective of pay disputes with the WICB.

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama has confirmed his presence for the match, according to Sanjay Sharma, spokesperson at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. Dalai Lama had last visited the stadium in 2012.

The pitch for the crucial fourth One-day International between India and the West Indies will be fast and bouncy, according to Sunil Chauhan, chief curator at the picturesque HPCA Stadium. Both teams go into the contest tied at 1-1 in the five-match series with the third match being cancelled due to cyclone Hudhud. While players of either side have remained in Delhi post the second ODI and are not expected to reach here before Thursday, curator Chauhan is busy giving final touches to the centre-wicket.
