India received an injury blow to pacer Varun Aaron, who suffered a muscle strain in his right leg during the five-match ODI series opener against Sri Lanka, here on Sunday.
"Aaron has a right quadriceps muscle strain and we will take a call (on his fitness) after investigation," team India manager told reporters after their 169-run win over Sri Lanka.
Aaron had to leave the field grimacing in pain after bowling the first ball of the 13th over and Virat Kohli had to complete the over.
Aaron, who incidentally clocked 152kph in the first over, chatted with Kohli as the physio was called before the pacer was taken off after bowling 4.1 overs, conceding 26 runs.
Kohli though refused to comment on Aaron's availability for the next game.
"Aaron struggled after the fourth over and I don't know the extent of his injury. I didn't want to take a chance and asked him to rest.
