That ends a pretty boring India-Sri Lanka series, except for the last game where the visitors showed some fight. It was smooth sailing right through for the hosts and they will be really happy that they have won with an almost second string side with majority of their seniors resting. They get a break now, as they travel to Australia for the Test series and then the World Cup. Sri Lanka would look to forget this series in a hurry and get some much-needed psychological momentum back home with the England series before they too, head Down Under. VIRAT KOHLI has been named the MAN OF THE SERIES. Admits that he was a little worried when he was running out of partners. Says clearly that there was communication but lack of application. Patel came out and played a good innings, he says, doing exactly what he wanted. On the pitch, he says that once the ball got old, it was difficult, especially with the Lankans taking the pace of the ball. Looks forward to carry this ruthlessness going forward and aims to lead from the front before asking others to follow suit. On captaincy, he says that he loved it, especially with his team mates standing up and performing well. Adds that it is exciting to be part of a young squad. Wishes the Lankan team all the best for the upcoming England series and appreciates their gesture for agreeing to travel to India to play this series.

This is a surprise. ANGELO MATHEWS has been named the Man Of the Match! Admits that his side did not play good cricket again and India came on top. On his batting today, he says that he needed to hang in there and get a partnership and he got a good partner in Thirimanne. Feels that 287 should have been defended on this track but his bowlers did not bowl that well while Kohli batted superbly. Wishes India all the good luck in Australia. Adds that the Lankans need to flush this series out of their system and go back home and focus for the England series.

Ambati Rayudu says that it was pretty tough to be playing on this track, as this was not as easy as the other wickets they played on and were under pressure. He is very happy for his champion captain, who really played a champion knock. He is unhappy to have got run out and cheekily adds that his understanding with Kohli will get better as they play more. Admits that he is getting better with experience. Also says that it is a great learning experience to be playing along side guys like Virat Kohli. Kohli shatters record after record, becoming the first Indian captain to inflict a whitewash on the opposition - both home and away. The future continues to be bright for Indian cricket. The bowling was also a similar case, with the bowlers doing well upfront, then controlling the game in the middle overs before going for plenty in the end. Indian batsmen will feel that there were too many soft dismissals though.
