The attacking Delhi batsman became the first Indian to score a triple ton in Tests when he hit 309 against Pakistan in 2004. He bettered his own performance with 319 against South Africa four years later. Sehwag missed out a record third triple ton when he made 293 against Sri Lanka in 2009.
He became the second player in ODI history to score a double hundred (219 vs West Indies in 2011). He held the record for the highest individual ODI score till 2014 when it was broken by Rohit Sharma (264 vs Sri Lanka).
