India pacer Ishant Sharma will not play in the second warm-up match against Cricket Australia Chariman's XI at Manuka Oval beginning Monday.

India pacer Ishant Sharma will not play in the second warm-up match against Cricket Australia Chariman's XI at Manuka Oval beginning Monday.

Sources reveal that Ishant will have a check-up on Tuesday before a decision is taken on his ability to take part in the series is taken. The 23-year-old had walked off the field after bowling just 5.3 overs on the opening day of the first practice match at Canberra and the Indian camp since has maintained that there is no serious concern but Ishant is being monitored closely.

On Sunday, India's media manager GS Walia said that the bowler is recovering fast. Ishant Sharma did join the team in the practice session ahead of the second warm-up match but did not bowl. (Read full story here)
