India and Australia are bitter rivals but captain Michael Clarke said on Saturday that players of both teams have always shared a close bond off the cricketing field.
India take on the hosts in Melbourne from Monday but Clarke said the on-field rivalry will not have any impact on the friendship between the two teams once the match is over. "The relationship between Indian players and Australian players have been very great off the field, though very competitive on the field," he said. "There are lines you can't cross and no player from Australia would do that."
Clarke said that his team was ready to behave in the true spirit of the game and that he did not see the level of competition getting the best of any of his players. "Of course, there are punishments from ICC and Cricket Australia. I just believe (if)we play our best and we can beat India, no doubt.
