Bangladesh's national selection committee recalled Farhad Reza, the allrounder, for the ICC World Twenty20, starting in Sri Lanka on September 18.
Reza, who played his last T20 International in November 2011 against Pakistan, replaced Nazmul Hossain, the pacer, who was part of the T20 squad which toured Europe to play against Scotland and Netherlands in June-July. Reza has played eight T20Is since making his debut in 2006.
"We opted for Reza considering his allround ability. He is the kind of player Twenty20 games need," said Akram Khan, Chief Selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Bangladesh have been drawn with Pakistan and New Zealand in Group D, with the top two sides advancing to the Super Eights round. Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicketkeeper, will lead the 15-man squad.
The squad:
Mushfiqur Rahim (capt, wk), Mohammad Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Siddique, Jahurul Islam, Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan, Nasir Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Elias Sunny, Mashrafe Mortaza, Farhad Reza, Shafiul Islam, Ziaur Rahman, Abul Hasan.
