16.05: Another wicket is gone! Mushfiqur attempts an audacious pull but the short ball from Umesh was rising on him and the top-edge is taken easily by Dhoni behind the stumps. India are now four wickets away from a semifinal spot. Bangladesh 139/6 (35.1 overs)

15.15: Oh my word, what a stunner from Dhoni! Soumya Sarkar tries to nudge a Shami delivery down to third man but Dhoni puts in an excellent, full-length dive to pouch the ball with his left hand. He seems delighted with his effort. Bangladesh 90/4 (20.4 overs)
15.05: No better description, really!
Shikhar Dhawan failed, applied for re-evaluation, failed, wrote supplementary, forgot his hall ticket... aced it
- Sidvee (@sidvee) March 19, 2015
15.00: OUT! Shikhar Dhawan fumbles, juggles and just about completes a smart catch at the fine leg fence to send Mahmudullah packing on 21. Bangladesh 73/3 (17 overs)
14.50: Key phase of the game for both sides. Bangladesh have been cautious since the fall of two wickets but need to keep the scoreboard ticking. It is in these middle overs that Dhoni has the tendency to put the game beyond the reach of the opposition. Bangladesh 63/2 (15 overs)
14.39: FOUR! Mahmudullah gives himself a bit of room and tonks Mohit Sharma over long on. Bangladesh 51/2 (12.3 overs)
14.34: Bangladesh reach 44/2 in 10 overs. Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah are ticking along. They need a big partnership to stand a chance here.

14.16: Double strike! First Tamim Iqbal edges an Umesh Yadav delivery and Dhoni takes a good low catch and then a terrible mix-up between the two batsmen lead to Kayes' straight-forward run out at the non-striker's end. Bangladesh 33/2 (6.4 overs)
14.08: Tamim seems determined to repeat his 2007 heroics - his knock of 51 paved the way for Bangladesh's win over India and the eventual group-stage exit. Bangladesh 31/0 (6 overs)
14.02: Bangladesh are off to a steady start here. Reach 23/0 in 5 overs. Can they pull of the unthinkable?
13.59: Third four of the over. Tamim is turning the heat on Shami. Gets the third four of the over through covers. Bangladesh 20/0 (4 overs)
13.58: Another boundary! Shami offers width and Tamim cuts it in front of point. Bangladesh 16/0 (3.4)
13.56: FOUR! Lovely straight drive from Tamim Iqbal off Shami. Exquisitely timed. Bangladesh 12/0 (3.2 overs)
13.45: Good, disciplined start from both Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami. Both are generating a lot of pace and bounce. Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes are off to a cautious start.Bangladesh 7/0 (2 overs)
13.35: Bangladesh have the arduous task of pulling off the highest chase at the MCG for a semis spot.ÂÂ

13.14: India post 302/6 in 50 overs vs Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma's 137 and Suresh Raina's 65 helped the defending champions power the team on after a stuttered start.
13.09: OUT! Dhoni falls! He mistimes his pull and is caught at cover-point. India 298/6 (49 overs)
13.06: Bangladesh skipper Mortaza doesn't look very happy with the effort on the field. India have moved on to 296/5 (48.5 overs)
12.57: BOWLED HIM! Taskin makes a fabulous comeback after being carted all over. Rohit is castled by an excellent yorker on off-stump. India 273/5 (47 overs)
12.54: The Rohit Sharma show is on here! He carts Taskin for a six over and a four off two balls. India are racing away towards the end.
12.50: Slower ball and smacked away! Rohit spots a slower one from Rubel and smacks it through covers for four. India 261/4 (46 overs)
12.41: Rohit Sharma needs to stay on and hold fort from one end while his skipper, MS Dhoni, packs a punch from the other. India 245/4 (45 overs)

12.40: OUT! Suresh Raina falls for 65. He attempted a pull shot off a length delivery but a top-edge goes miles high in the air. However, wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim covers good ground to take the catch. India 237/4 (43.5)

12.29: Hundred for Rohit Sharma! He gets there by piercing a packed off-side field. He gets there off 108 balls and is clearly delighted with his achievement. India 227/3 (42 overs)
12.25: Raina has decided to take every bowler on here. He moves across and flicks a Mortaza delivery for a four behind square. India 222/3 (41.2)
12.22: 12 runs in the post-powerplay over. Bangladesh need to be careful here. Rohit and Raina are capable of running away with this. India 217/3 (41 overs)
12.21: FIFTY for Suresh Raina! His 35th in ODIs. It has come in 46 balls. India 208/3 (40.3 overs)
12.19: India reach 205/3 in 40 overs. India have scored 50 runs in the batting powerplay overs. How much will that dubious call in favour of Rohit hurt Bangladesh here? They need to make sure that shoulders don't drop.
12.15: Oh dear! Rohit Sharma is mighty, mighty lucky! He hits a high full toss off Rubel, straight to the deep square leg fielder but much to Bangladesh's horror, the umpires calls it a no-ball for height. Replays show the ball was dipping on Rohit. He gets a big, big reprieve here. India 200/3 (39.4)
12.10: Rain halted play but not for very long. Players back on the field with a mini-break. Passing cloud, perhaps. India 186/3 (38.1 overs)
11.53: FOUR! Poor, low full-toss from Rubel and Raina just helps to the fence behind square. India 181/3 (37.3 overs)
11.50: Rohit Sharma moves into the 80s with a sweep shot for four behind square. India 175/3 (37 overs)
11.48: SIX! Raina steps down the track and hits Shakib for a huge six over long on. This is a make-or-break phase for both sides. Can Bangladesh keep the pressure on India?
11.46: Two fours in the first powerplay over off Mortaza. Nine runs collected from it. India 164/3 (36 overs)
11.42: India reach 155/3 in 35 overs with Rohit on 77 and Raina on 13. Will this game tilt back in India's favour during the batting powerplay?
11.36: Close call! Suresh Raina survives an LBW appeal! He tries to play across and a Mortaza delivery strikes him in line below the knee role. The Bangladesh skipper lets out a loud shout and follows it up with a review. The replays suggest the ball pitched marginally outside the leg stump. Raina dodged a bullet there. India 147/3 (33.2 overs)
11.35: Bangladesh's heat map shows the bowlers' ability to stick to their plan. Exceptional effort so far.

11.26: Mortaza seems to be struggling a bit with his fitness here.He is constantly feeling his knee cap while walking back to his run up.
11.25: FOUR! Mortaza returns, bowls short and wide and Rohit's eyes lit up. He cuts it superbly in front of point. India 136/3 in 31.1 overs
11.16: The wickets are falling, the runs have dried up and the Indians are in a bit of trouble here. Fabulous bowling from Bangladesh, sticking religiously to their plan and executing them to perfection. Rohit has scored his 26th fifty but has been thoroughy tested. The ball seems to be oddly stopping on the wicket too. India 126/3 in 30 overs
11.09: OUT! Ajinkya Rahane has thrown his wicket away! He mistimes his lofted shot and is taken by Shakib al Hasan at extra cover. India 115/3 (28 overs)
11.03: Rohit Sharma brings up his fifty! It has come in 70 balls. Here's how he has got his runs today.
© NDTV
10.58: 100 comes up for India. Rohit and Rahane are looking to rebuild. India 105/2 (26 overs)
10.57: At the halfway stage, India crawl to 99/2. One more wicket and India will be under all sorts of pressure.
10.49: The runs are really hard to come by now. Bangladesh are pressing well here. India haven't scored a four for more than eight overs now. 96/2 (24 overs)
10.37: India reach 84/2 in 20 overs with Rohit Sharma (42) and Ajinkya Rahane (3) in the middle.
10.29: Important phase of play for Bangladesh. They've bided their time, kept India's scoring rate modest and now have two crucial wickets. Need to attack. As for India, the two Mumbai batsmen in the middle really need to dig in.

ÂÂ
10.27: Rubel Hossain seemed keen on giving Kohli a send-off there. He must be pumped up.
10.26: Another wicket! BIG wicket! Virat Kohli is gone! He chases a wide half-volley from Rubel Hossain and nicks it to the keeper. Bangladesh are ecstatic. India 79/2 (17.5 overs)

ÂÂ
10.22: OUT! First wicket! Shakib al Hasan strikes in his first over. He beats Shikhar Dhawan with flight and Mushfiqur Rahim is quick to dislodge the bail behind the stumps. Replays show Dhawan's back foot dragged outside the crease and he failed to drag it back in on time. India 75/1 (16.3)
10.15: Can the experienced and wily Shakib al Hasan give Bangladesh the much-needed breakthrough? He comes into the attack with India on 72/0 in 16 overs.
10.09: This duel between Rubel Hosain and Shikhar Dhawan is getting intense. The right-arm slinger has been cranking up the speedometer with deliveries consistently beyond 140 kmph. He also has a stare and an odd word to offer Dhawan.
10.05: FIRST SIX of the MATCH! Nasir Hossain offers a full, darted delivery and Rohit hits a flat, straight six. India 70/0 (15 overs)
© Getty Images
09.54: Interesting passage of play coming on. Bangladesh have done well to keep India's total down to 51 in the mandatory batting powerplay. Rubel Hossain even has a few stares and words for Dhawan who takes a swipe and misses a couple of deliveries. India 56/0 in 12 overs
09.47: The fifty-run stand between Dhawan and Rohit comes up. Fans are delighted with that. India 51/0 in 10 overs

09.36: Hossain is bowling from round the stumps to left-hander Dhawan who has, in recent past, been a bit tentative against the ball angled into him.
09.29: Just two runs off Hossain's over. India 28/0 in 6 overs
09.28: There is a long on and deep mid-wicket in place as Nasir Hossain bowls to Rohit. The right-arm spinner also has a leg slip.

ÂÂ
09.27: It's a steady start from Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. India are 26/0 in 5 overs and Mortaza brings spinner Nasir Hossain into the attack.
09.22: Interesting move from Mortaza. He takes his second slip off and brings in a short point fielder as a catcher. Dhawan was out caught at point against South Africa and has the tendency to play the uppish cut.
09.16: Good comeback from Mortaza. He concedes another four in the over but the final ball put Rohit in a spot of bother. The length delivery climbed on the right-hander and an outside edge went past the second slip for a single. India 17/0 (3 overs)
09.12: Shikhar Dhawan gets FOUR! A good over from Taskin Ahmed is ruined by the last ball that is over-pitched. Dhawan drives it through covers. India 12/0 (2 overs)
09.05: FOUR more! Mortaza looks rusty at the moment. He strays down the leg side and Rohit guides it to the fine leg fence. Leg-byes given. Replays shows it went off his thigh pad. India 8/0 (0.5 overs)
09.03: FOUR! Rohit Sharma kick-starts India's innings with a boundary through covers. Poor start from Mortaza, full and wide outside the off-stump. Easy pickings for Rohit. India 4/0 (0.1 overs)
09.01: Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma set to begin India's innings. Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has the ball in his hand.

India and Bangladesh have met twice before in World Cups. While Bangladesh won in 2007, India won the opening game of the 2011 World Cup and then went on to win the tournament. As the two teams clash again in the quarter-final, the stakes are higher than ever before. While India have been dominant, Suresh Raina said they would not want to take the Bangla Tigers lightly.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh are confident of their chances, but their senior players have shown India the respect they deserve in the lead-up to the knockout contest. India are expected to win but a Bangladesh victory on Thursday could set the party rolling in Dhaka.
Numbers That Matter
Eight of the last completed 10 one-day internationals between these sides has been won by the chasing team. (Bangladesh Have 'Nothing to Lose' vs India)
- However, the most recent clash, at Dhaka in June 2014, saw India successfully defend a total of 105, bowling Bangladesh out for 58.
- Virat Kohli (506) needs 87 runs to pass Gautam Gambhir (592) as the leading run-scorer in ODIs between these teams.
- Kohli has reached 50 in five of his six innings against Bangladesh (three of which have been converted into centuries), averaging 126.5 with a strike rate of exactly 100.
- That average of 126.5 is the highest any player holds against an opponent, minimum 500 runs scored.
- All six of the ODIs between these teams at neutral venues have been won by the team that batted second (Read More Stats Here)
