After a news channel alleged that players in the Indian Premier League are guilty of spot-fixing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken stern action against the accused, pending an inquiry. Here are the top-10 developments.
* The General Council of the Indian Premier League had an emergency meeting after a news channel caught players on tape, taking bribes to spot-fix.
* The five players who were accused of fixing by the channel are Amit Yadav, Mohnish Mishra, Abhinav Bali, TP Sudhindra and Shalabh Srivastava.
* Mohnish Mishra has admitted to saying that players receive money in black from franchises. He wrote an apology to Sahara, owners of Pune Warriors India, stating that he made the statements casually.
* Sahara India issued a statement on Tuesday saying that they had not paid any player in excess of what was announced.
* The BCCI has suspended the five players from all forms of cricket pending an inquiry.
* A probe against the guilty has been set-up.
* The news channel which conducted the investigations has defended its footage saying that they are ready to prove all that they have said in a court if required.
* Shalabh Srivastava told NDTV that he is not guilty and that the voice in one of the tapes showing him, is not his.
* BCCI on Monday night had asked the channel for the full footage of the sting operation.
