India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been winning plaudits for his heroics in India's recent Test series against Australia and England, but with the team now moving on to the limited overs leg against England, he has finally caught a break to spend some time with his family. On Tuesday, he took to Instagram to share a selfie with one of his daughters from a family trip to a wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. "Teach the beauty and importance of nature to kids and that's best gift we can give them as parents," he captioned the picture from the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve.
His wife Prithi also shared a picture where she can be seen with both their daughters, with all three maintaining precautions against coronavirus with their masks on. "MASK UP. That's all," she captioned the picture.
Ashwin has been in red-hot form for India in Tests. While his taming of Steve Smith in Australia and his resolute knock to save the Test in Sydney earned him a lot of praise, he upped the ante in the home series against England.
He finished the series as the highest wicket-taker as the visitors struggled against spin, and also scored his seventh Test century, at his home stadium in Chennai.
Ashwin took 32 wickets in the four matches against England and finished as the fifth-highest run-scorer with 189 runs.
In the process, he also became the fastest Indian to 400 Test wickets, and second-fastest in the world, only behind Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan.
