India's batting in 2nd innings solid & purposeful. Kohli's missed out on again but most vital decision vests in him: when should he declare?
- Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) September 25, 2016
STAT ATTACK - 276: Highest fourth innings total by a visiting team in India. Windies did it in Feroz Shah Kotla in 1987-88.ÂÂ

10:54 hrs IST: WICKET! Pujara c Taylor b Sodhi 78(152). India are 228/4 in 70.3 overs, lead by 284 runs.ÂÂ
STAT ATTACK - Kohli has scored just 78 runs in Tests since his double hundred against Windies in first Test at Antigua. ÂÂ
10:40 hrs IST: FOUR! Slightly short from Craig and Rahane punches it through covers for his first boundary of the innings.ÂÂ

10:30 hrs IST: Two runs off Craig's over. India are 211/2 after 66 overs.ÂÂ
10:24 hrs IST: Number three is a tricky position to bat. If the openers get out early then you have to lay the foundation. If they score big then you have keep the scoreboard ticking fast. Pujara, with his technique and temperament, seems to be the ideal option for India. He'll hold the key for Kohli's side when they go overseas.ÂÂ
10:17 hrs IST: FOUR! Good use of the crease from Pujara. Marginally short from Craig and times it well through covers. India are 209/2 after 64 overs.ÂÂ

The ball before the ball that dismissed Vijay was more important than the one that did....happens often in Tests. #LoveTests #IndvNZ

10:05 hrs IST: FOUR! Shortish delivery from Craig and Kohli pulls it over short fine leg. India are 196/2 after 60 overs, lead by 252 runs.ÂÂ
09:59 hrs IST: After that 200 vs Windies, Kohli hasn't been able to score big. Ideal opportunity for him today to get some runs under his belt.ÂÂ
09:53 hrs IST: FOUR! And the crowd goes berserk. Too short from Sodhi, Kohli rocks back and pulls it to wide long-on region for his first boundary.ÂÂ

09:36 hrs IST: FOUR! Too full from Sodhi, Vijay gets into position and smacks it right of the bowler's head. Moves to 72 now.ÂÂ
09:33 hrs IST: Solid defence both batsmen. If India can manage to bat two sessions, the visitors will be well and truly out of the game.ÂÂ
09:27 hrs IST: It's not that the Kiwis are bowling badly. It's the class of Vijay and Pujara that is making them look ordinary. Plus, there is no substitute for experience.ÂÂ
09:23 hrs IST: Spinners from both ends. It's simple, New Zealand need wickets.ÂÂ
09:20 am IST: India are 160/1 after 48 overs

Jadeja picked up five wickets, while Ashwin bagged four, as the Kiwis' batting line-up suffered a collapse. Later in the day, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara took charge in the crease and put together a 107-run stand as India closed the day at 159/1, with Vijay and Pujara unbeaten on 64 and 50, respectively.
However, it will be interesting to see how the batting duo counter the spin and reverse swing produced on the pitch. Ish Sodhi, who dismissed Indian opening batsman Lokesh Rahul for 38 on Day 3, will look to add more wickets to his name, while Indian batsmen will also be wary of spinners Mitchell Santner and Mark Craig.
While the hosts have already taken a lead of 215 runs, they will look to build up a winnable lead on Day 4, before putting the Kiwis to bat. However, both teams will hope that weather gods do not play spoilsport on what promises to be an exciting day of cricket on Sunday.
