Rohit Sharma Weds Long-Time Girlfriend Ritika Sajdeh, Hopes for Better Form for India Cricket Team

Rohit is hoping that Lady Luck will smile on his batting form. He had a poor outing in the recently-concluded home Test series against South Africa, which India won 3-0.

Rohit, who mainly batted in the middle order, aggregated 26 runs in four innings with many pundits feel the Mumbai star must return to Ranji to regain form.

"It's a very exciting time for me to get married. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time," Rohit had told NDTV last week.

The wedding was attended by some close relatives and friends, including Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Rohit's teammates like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Umesh Yadav were also present along with their wives.

On Friday, Nita and Mukesh Ambani had hosted a party at their residence for their Mumbai Indians' captain Rohit and off-spinner Harbhajan, who got married in October to Bollywood actress Geeta Basra.

With India set to tour Australia early next year for a series of limited-overs matches, Rohit will hope to find his magic touch with the bat back.

Rohit holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs - 264 versus Sri Lanka in Kolkata in 2014. He is also the only batsman in the 50-over format to hit two double hundreds.

The 28-year-old Mumbaikar is also the second Indian to score a century each in all formats of international cricket. Suresh Raina was the first.

Rohit is the third cricketer after Dinesh Karthik and Harbhajan to get married this year. Yuvraj, last month, got engaged to Bollywood actress Hazel Keech and he is reportedly planning to tie the knot in February.
