APJ Abdul Kalam, India's 11th President, passed away in a hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya. The former President, who held office from 2002 to 2007, collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management on Monday evening. (India to Host South Africa in Marathon Series)
The entire nation was shocked and messages paying tribute to one of India's greatest minds poured in on social media.
The Indian cricket fraternity too was shocked. Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian legend, led the way with his tribute.
On twitter, Tendulkar wrote, "The nation mourns the loss of a great person. Former President of India, a renowned scientist, an inspiration to all, a terrific human being...RIP Abdul Kalam"
