Former Indian Premier League Chairman Lalit Modi on Tuesday, tweeted that he felt the International Cricket Council and not the Board of Control for Cricket in India should investigate allegations of spot fixing in IPL.
Mentioning that he was surprised with the decision to have Ravi Sawani head an inquiry committtee, Modi said that ICC's anti-corruption unit could better deal with the entire matter. "Surprised to see new committee headed by Ravi appointed. ACSU is a unit of ICC and they should be conducting any inquiry. Why new committee?" he wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Modi, who had been suspended from IPL by the BCCI, also claimed that there was no problems of spot-fixing during his tenure. "All I want to say on this issue is - For sure when I was there - we had none. So there was no noise like today. Today too I see no reason for this issue. But that's me watching from outside. Inside what's on - u need to ask present management. As they are there and I am not."
