Karachi:

The blasts in Karachi late on Thursday night might affect the cricket being played in the country.

The South African cricket team is touring Pakistan right now and a direct result of the blasts could be a pull-out of the South Africans mid way through the series.

The two teams have already played two Tests and an ODI and are scheduled to play four more ODIs, with the final one scheduled to be held in Karachi.

If the South Africans do pull out of the current tour, it won't be the first instance of a touring team pulling out of a series in Pakistan.

Post 9/11 blasts in New York, several cricket tours in Pakistan were affected. the city of Karachi being the most feared venue for most touring teams.

New Zealand have pulled out once from a tour of Pakistan. Australia too had pulled out when the venue was shifted to Sharjah.

The first ODI of the current series was played in Lahore on Thursday and the visitors triumphed over the hosts with a 46 run win to go up 1-0 in the five ODI series.
