# Praveen Kumar (5/106) recorded his career-best bowling figures in Tests - his first five-wicket haul in Tests - eclipsing the 3 for 38 against West Indies at Kingston last month.

# Praveen has become the 12th Indian bowler to claim five wickets or more in an innings at Lord's. Amar Singh (6/35 in 1936) and Bishan Singh Bedi (6/226 in 1974) are the only two Indian bowlers to take six wickets in an innings at Lord's.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Indian wicketkeeper to bowl in a Test match on four occasions - twice against England - at Mohali in 2008-09 and at Lord's in 2011 and once each against New Zealand at Ahmedabad in 2010-11 and Pakistan at Faisalabad in 2005-06.

# Syed Kirmani had an opportunity to bowl three times in Tests and Kiran More and Ajay Ratra once each.

# Dhoni became the first Indian wicketkeeper to bowl in a Test match in England apart from becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to bowl a maiden over in Tests.

# Dhoni has taken 163 catches as a wicketkeeper, overtaking Syed Kirmani's tally of 160 catches and setting an Indian record.

# Harbhajan Singh (35-3-152-0), for the second time in a Test innings against England, has conceded 150 runs or more. In the 2002 Trent Bridge Test, his bowling figures in England's first innings were 45-3-175-3.

# Harbhajan has now conceded 150 runs or more nine times in Tests. In terms of runs conceded, his worst bowling figures are - 48.4-4-189-2 against Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad in 2009-10.

# Ian Bell has so far averaged 163.66 this year, his runs' tally being 491 in six innings, three times not out.

# Among batsmen with 400 runs or more in 2011, Bell's average is the best.

# Bell has managed 115 against Australia, 103 not out, 52, 57 not out and 119 not out against Sri Lanka and 45 against India in 2011. His tally of 491 in 2011 is exceeded only by Alastair Cook's 591.

# Kevin Pietersen (202 not out off 326 balls) has recorded his 18th century in 75 Tests - his fourth against India.
