Sri Lanka registered the fastest win ever in Twenty20 internationals when they crushed Netherlands by 9 wickets in an ICC World Twenty20 Super-10 tie at Chittagong. After dismissing the Dutch side for just 39 in 10.3 overs, the Islanders romped home in 5 overs, making it one of the shortest matches in T20 history, lasting 15.3 overs. # Sri Lanka, with a nine-wicket win, have equalled their biggest win in terms of wickets in T20Is. They had defeated England by 9 wickets at Bristol on June 25, 2011 and West Indies by 9 wickets at Pallekele on September 29, 2012.

# Sri Lanka have won twelve international games in succession since between February 12, 2014 and March 24, 2014.

# Netherlands' 39 is the lowest completed innings total in T20Is - the previous lowest being 56 by Kenya against Afghanistan at Sharjah on September 30, 2013. Their previous lowest in a T20I was 86 against Ireland at Dubai (DSC) on February 13, 2010.

# Netherlands' above score is the second lowest in all Twenty20s. Tripura had scored 30 off 11.1 overs against Jharkhand at Dhanbad on October 20, 2009.

 

# The match aggregate runs of 79 is also the lowest in T20 internationals. Previous lowest match aggregate (86 runs) was recorded when Ireland (43/7 in 9 overs) beat Bermuda (41/8 in 9 overs) by 4 runs (D/L method) at Belfast in 2008.

 

# Angelo Matthews (3/16) has emulated his best bowling performance in T20Is. He had claimed 3 for 16 vs West Indies at The Oval on June 19, 2009.

# Matthews has received his second Man of the Match award in T20Is - his first was for scoring 46 against India at Gros Islet on May 11, 2010

# Ajantha Mendis has captured 35 wickets (ave.13.54) in 20 matches - a record by a spinner at the ICC World Twenty20. The said tally is the second highest, next only to Lasith Malinga's 36 (ave.19.08) in 27 matches.

# Netherlands faced 63 balls (10.3 overs) - the shortest completed innings in terms of balls faced - eleven less than the previous instance of 74 balls faced by South Africa, during their total of 100 of 12.2 overs against Pakistan at Centurion on March 3, 2013.

# Both Netherlands openers got out without scoring - the seventh instance in T20Is.

# Nuwan Kulasekara (2-2-0-1) has provided the third instance of a bowler taking a wicket in a T20I without conceding a run. Albie Morkel has achieved the feat twice for South Africa - both instances against England in 2009 & 2012.
