Tino Best, the former West Indies fast bowler, who has revealed in his autobiography that he slept with 500 to 650 women, justified his actions by saying, "I think I am one of the sexiest cricketers in world."
"Everywhere I went as a cricketer, I'd talk to girls, date girls and sleep with girls. I reckon I've slept with anywhere between 500 and 650 girls, all around the world," the 35-year-old fast bowler has said in Mind the Windows whose extracts were carried by MailOnline.
Speaking exclusively over his mobile from Barbados, Best said: "Yes, it (sleeping with so many women) was possible because I am a handsome cricketer."
When asked to compare himself to Shane Warne, whose sex scandals grabbed headlines along with his leg-spinning exploits, Best laughed: "Shane Warne is a legend. I am miles away from him. I am saying this about Warne for his on-field activities. I don't know much about him as a man in bed."
Best slammed suggestions of him writing the book to seek publicity. "The book is not written to seek cheap publicity. The playboy lifestyle is only one chapter in my book. The book is written just to provide an insight on how I was when I first started my career.
'More responsible now'
"I am much more responsible now and have two kids. I am not that way now. Life is about stages and we can learn from our mistakes. I wanted to share my experience with the world and that was the purpose of writing this book," he said.
" No one can judge me unless he be judged first. My message to the young generation would be, 'don't be like me. Don't break your first love and always admit when you are wrong.' My book is about that."
