Congratulatory messages and praise poured in for Rahul Dravid, as India's go-to man proved his worth to the side yet again after saving India the blushes in the 1st inning of the 1st Test at Lord's.
Dravid slammed an unbeaten 103 to help India avoid a follow on against England at Lord's.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, @SrBachchan, "And congratulations to Rahul Dravid for his unbeaten century at Lord's .. still a not very pleasant scenario as far as the Test goes."
Offbeat movie star Rahul Bose wrote, @RahulBose1, " salute the genius of rahul dravid, because that's exactly what he possesses. enough of calling him the wall. walls don't save countries."
Former England captain Alec Stewart also praised the veteran batsman. @StewieCricket said, "A pleasure to see Rahul Dravid score 100 at Lords. A great player and a great person."
Cricket expert Ayaz Memon wrote from his twitter account @cricketwallah, "Every so often the side hero upstages the main start. It's been a tour de force by Rahul Dravid. Batted with exemplary resolve and control."
Dravid, who has scored a century in all ten Test playing nations, hit his maiden ton at Lord's. During the knock, he also surpassed Australia's Ricky Ponting as the 2nd highest run scorer in the history of Tests, and is now behind only Sachin Tendulkar.
