Harpreet Singh shot a total of 292 points while Vijay Kumar had to be content with a combined total of 281 at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre.

Glasgow:

Indian shooter Harpreet Singh topped the qualification Stage 1 of the men's 25-metre rapid fire pistol event while Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games here on Monday. (Medals Tally | Day 5 Blog)

Harpreet, 33, shot a total of 292 points and was followed by Australians Bruce Quick (287) and David Chapman (282) in second and third, respectively, at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre. (Narang Settles for Silver)

Meanwhile, Vijay had to be content with a combined total of 281. (Also read: Jitu Rai Shoots Gold)

The qualification Stage 2 will be held Tuesday which will be followed by the finals.
