Boxing champ Zoramthanga passes away
T Zoramthanga, the only Indian to win a medal in World Cup Boxing Championships, died today at the Lunglei civil hospital due to hypertension.

T Zoramthanga, the only Indian to win a medal in World Cup Boxing Championships, died today at the Lunglei civil hospital due to hypertension.
Zoramthanga, 41, became the toast of the nation when he won the bronze medal at the Mumbai World Cup in 1990 with a scintillating show.
Beginning his career in 1985, the Mizo won a gold medal at the Mizoram-Myanmar Border Champhai boxing championship in the same year.
For the next seven years, he went on to win laurels in several national and international championships for Mizoram and India.
Zoramthanga is survived by his wife and three children. (PTI)
