India-born cricketer Gulam Bodi mocks Jonathan Trott for quitting Ashes due to stress
Gulam Bodi, who has represented South Africa in ODIs, subsequently apologized for his tweet directed at Jonathan Trott, who is taking a prolonged break from cricket.
India-born South African cricketer Gulam Bodi mocked Jonathan Trott for withdrawing from the on-going Ashes series due to a stress-related illness. Soon after England held a press conference announcing Trott's decision to withdraw, Bodi tweeted, 'Hahaha, joke of the day! Trott to go home frm the ashes due to stress illness! Bloody man up n take the heat! Stop running for cover.'
In the 381-run defeat in the first Test at Brisbane against Australia, Trott came in for severe criticism due to his inability to play Mitchell Johnson's short-pitched deliveries. However, the criticism was replaced by shock and sympathy from across the world following Trott's revelations. 2005 Ashes-winning England captain Michael Vaughan said he felt guilty for criticizing the 32-year-old's performances.
Bodi subsequently apologized for making light of Trott's condition and deleted his previous tweet.

Bodi was born in Hathuran, a village near Surat, but moved to South Africa as a teenager. He has played two ODIs for South Africa against Zimbabwe in 2007, scoring a half century. He also played a Twenty20 international against the West Indies in December 2007. Bodi is a T20 specialist and has represented South African Pro20 side Highveldt Lions and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
