Jennifer Capriati and Serena Williams will meet in a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the third time this year after both won their US Open fourth round matches at Flushing Meadows on Sunday.
Williams fired down 12 aces in a 6-4 6-2 demolition of Patty Schnyder in less than an hour.
Capriati saved a set point in the first set before hitting top gear in the second to see off 12th seed Ai Sugiyama 7-5 6-2.
Elena Dementieva also reached the last eight when she came back from losing the opening set to defeat fellow Russian Vera Zvonareva, 1-6 6-4 6-3.
Defending champion Andy Roddick maintained his blistering form with a 6-1 6-3 6-3 third round win over Argentina's Guillermo Canas.
Roddick took just over an hour and a half to end the Argentinian's 13-match winning run. (AP)
