It's India vs India in men's doubles final at US Open

One Indian is sure to lay hands on the US Open men's doubles trophy as Davis Cup teammates Mahesh Bhuapthi and Leander Paes would clash against each other in the summit clash along with their respective partners.

Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles, seeded third, eased into the final with a 6-4 6-2 semifinal win over fifth seeds Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Andy Ram of Israel at Flushing Meadows last night.

Earlier, fourth seeds Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy upset top seeds Mike and Bob Bryan 6-3 3-6 7-6 (8-6) in the other semifinal.

However, the two Indian tennis greats would not clash in the mixed doubles final as Bhupathi and his partner Liezel Huber had lost their semifinal. The top seeds had lost 3-6 4-6 to local duo of Travis Parrot and Carly Gullickson.

Paes and Cara Black of Zimbabwe are the defending champions in the mixed doubles.

In the tight first set of men's doubles second semifinal, Bhupathi and Knowles converted the only chance they had and saved a breakpoint on their own serve to take lead.

Going with the momentum, the Indo-Bahamian pair broke their twice in the second set and saved the only breakpoint they faced to seal a final match berth.

Meanwhile, in the junior championship, curtains were drawn on Sudanwa Sitaram's campaign, following a second round defeat in the doubles event.

Sudanwa and his Irish partner John Morrissey lost 4-6 6-3 4-10 to Hungarian Marton Fucsovics and Cheng Peng Hsieh of Chinese Taipei.

Sudanwa has crashed our of the singles event after losing his first round.
