United States take on Belgium at Delray Beach in Florida this weekend in the first round of the Fed Cup. Victory for the USA could set up a semi-final against last year's champions Russia, and they can boast a virtually full-strength team. Lindsay Davenport and Venus Williams are contesting the singles matches with Venus's sister Serena in reserve whilst recovering from a minor ankle injury. In contrast, Belgium are without their two best players, both Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne having declined the invitation to play in the Fed Cup - and their top-ranked player will be Els Callens, number 175 in the world.
