Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a nightmare outing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens after being bowled out for a paltry 49 in 9.4 overs -- the lowest ever score in the Indian Premier League (IPL). No RCB batsmen could even get to double digits as Kedar Jadhav recorded a high score of 9. Three KKR bowlers took three wickets apiece -- Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme. Umesh Yadav chipped in with one wicket as RCB suffered a humiliating 82-run loss for their fifth defeat in seven matches. Meanwhile, KKR recorded their fifth win in seven matches to remain second in the standings with 10 points.
Earlier, KKR too suffered a stunning collapse to be finally bowled out for 131 in 19.3 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata on Sunday. Sunil Narine (34 off 17 balls) gave Kolkata a blistering start again as they powered to 65 for one in 5.3 overs. But after Narine fell, it was all downhill for the hosts as RCB slowly but surely clawed their way back. Yuzvendra Chahal was the destroyer-in-chief taking three wickets for just 16 runs. Pawan Negi and Tymal Mills chipped in with two wickets apiece while Stuart Binny, Samuel Badree and Sreenath Aravind took one each. (SCORECARD)

So that's it from us for this game. Phew! We saw two really contrasting games. The first game was relatively close but the second? Well, despite the delayed start, we have finished before time which tells you that it ended in a jiffy. Gujarat and Bangalore are still in the bottom half and will know that things are only going to get tough from hereon. That's it for today. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Mumbai host Pune for Match 28 at the Wankhede at 2000 local (1430 GMT) tomorrow. We look forward to your company. Until then, it's goodbye and take care!
Man of the Match, Nathan Coulter-Nile says that he had to come out steaming as they were defending 131. Adds that he had a bit of problems with no balls as he hasn't been bowling too much but was pumped up today. Mentions that whatever lengths he was bowling, he wanted to be aggressive and adds that he got good movement from the track. Feels that they have got world class spinners and they didn't even get to bowl today. Reckons that Woakes, Umesh Yadav and de Grandhomme were terrific and kept on going and going. Opines that you get goosebumps when the Kolkata crowd is up on its feet. Ends by saying that to get back the winning momentum after the last game is great.
Kolkata skipper Gautam Gambhir calls it a professional bowling performance from his team. Says that they have got really good fast bowlers and he just asked them to bowl quick and it worked. Mentions that they did not bat well after the first six overs. Reckons that they needed to have got 160-170 and cannot afford to get bowled out like that. Hopes that they play their A-game ahead. Further adds that they have quality fast bowlers so there was no point bowling the spinners. Calls it an impressive performance from his bowlers. Says that the message was to use the pace and express themselves. Ends by saying that a lot of sides think that they are a chasing side but forget that they have a bowling unit which can defend scores as well.
Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli reckons that this is the worst batting performance of all time and adds that it is very hurtful standing here. Feels that the batting was very reckless. Opines that as professional cricketers they need to play much better. On what happened when he got out, he replies that a guy was walking right across the sightscreen when the bowler was about to bowl which distracted him. Feels that they got to take the positives from the first half and adds that he can't review the second half, needs to move on. Expects his players to realize their mistakes and come back harder. Mentions that they are going back home for a couple of games and after that, they will be down the road. Ends by saying that they need to win games to get some kind of momentum.
Just four bowlers were required for the home side as they wrapped up the game inside ten overs. Never seen anything like this before, what domination. They didn't have a par score on board but boy, how well did they bowl to get this win? This should boost their confidence big time. We did write about them taking inspiration from Mumbai but they just bettered them. Every bowler took wickets with Chris Woakes, Colin de Grandhomme and Nathan Coulter-Nile taking three wickets each.
What an annihilation this has been from Kolkata. If this was a Test match, Bangalore would have been beaten by an innings on Day 2. They have put up an abject batting performance to get bundled out for just 49 - the lowest total ever in the Indian T20 League. The fact that the top score for Bangalore was 9, just sums up the dismal performance put up today.
OUT! All over! What a win for Kolkata! De Grandhomme bowls it on a fullish length outside off, Chahal looks to drive but gets an outside edge. There are two slip fielders and both dive to catch it but Manish Pandey from second slip goes to his left and pouches it safely. What a performance, KOLKATA WIN BY 82 RUNS!
Fullish delivery outside off, shaping away. Chahal pushes at it but gets beaten all ends up.
Back of a length delivery, swinging in. Aravind looks to block it but gets an inside edge past his leg stump and towards fine leg. A run taken.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the last man in.
