Gujarat Lions, led by Suresh Raina, have been the team to beat in the IPL 2016, winning six of their seven matches.

With just one loss in seven matches, Gujarat Lions are the team to beat. They have looked a formidable unit and have the players to play in any condition. Ex-Chennai Super Kings stars Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith and captain Suresh Raina give the top order a beefy look. Add to that a specialist like Aaron Finch.

GL's bowling is equally strong. A fit-again Dale Steyn, a wily Pravin Tambe, a pacy Dhawal Kulkarni and of course the skillful Ravindra Jadeja balances the Lions just perfectly.

Meanwhile, their opponents Punjab have had very little to cheer about. Punjab have one win in six games, which has resulted in David Miller's demotion as the team captain with opener Mural Vijay taking up the responsibility. The South African will continue to be a part of the Punjab outfit but, now, just as a player.

The biggest problem for Punjab has been barren run of Miller and hot-and-cold performances from their two other international stars Glenn Maxwell and Shaun Marsh.

Barring openers Vijay and Manan Vohra, and pacer Sandeep Sharma, KXIP's Indian contingent too haven't risen to the occassion. A win over Gujarat could be just the tonic that Preity Zinta's need to wake up from their slumber.
