After their humiliating 10-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter, Delhi Daredevils skipper JP Duminy on Sunday said it was a tough day for the team as they were outplayed in all departments.
RCB pacer Mitchell Starc was clinical, finishing with superb figures of 4-0-20-3 while fast bowling partner Varun Aaron (2/24) and South African medium pacer David Wiese (2/18) took two wickets each to skittle out Daredevils for a meagre 95 in 18.2 overs. In reply, Chris Gayle (62 off 40 balls) and skipper Virat Kohli (35 off 23 balls) chased down the score in just 10.3 overs with 10 wickets in hand.
"It was a tough day. We were outplayed in all the departments. Credit to RCB," Duminy said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The skipper said the team needs to regroup ahead of their next game and come back to impress the home crowd.
"We have to pick ourselves up from this loss. We were always on the back foot after losing a wicket in the first over. We have a few days off before we regroup. We have one more game here and hopefully we can make the home crowd proud," Duminy said.
