Chasing a 151-run target, Delhi Daredevils, led by a valiant innings from South African Albie Morkel (73 not out), came within inches of wining the contest. Requiring a six off the last ball, the left-handed batsman just managed to score a boundary to lose agonisingly by a run.

A fabulous match for the crowd at Chennai, an exciting last over finish! A super-over would have been a perfect finish to this contest. Albie Morkel almost did it for Delhi! Unfortunately the side from Delhi fell short of the target by only 1 run. Their unlucky run in the Indian T20 league continues. They now have lost 10 games on the trot. During the run chase, Delhi lost three early wickets. Jadhav and Morkel did well and had a decent partnership in between them for the fourth wicket and kept Delhi in the hunt. Yuvraj and Duminy failed to impress with the bat. Albie Morkel kept calm and played a sensible innings to help Delhi get close to the target. Feel sorry for him, what a fine knock that was! Ashish Nehra picked up three wickets and was the pick of the bowlers for Chennai. Also he gave away only 25 runs in his 4 overs. Chennai have opened their account in their first game itself.
