Chennai Super Kings won their opening game against Delhi Daredevils by just a single run. Chasing 151 to win, Delhi Daredevils could only manage 149/9 with Albie Morkel remaining unbeaten on a splendid 73 off just 55 balls.
Chennai Super Kings ended their innings at 150/7 after Delhi Daredevils won the toss and invited them to bat. Nathan Coulter-Nile made early in-roads but Dwayne Smith (34) kept the run-rate up. However, the spin-twins of the Daredevils wove their magic and stifled the Super Kings. Faf du Plessis (32) and Ms Dhoni (30) tried their best to infuse some momentum but the Daredevils stuck to their task and restricted the opposition to a chaseable score. Catch the highlights of the game here. (LIVE SCORECARD/SCHEDULE)

23:25 (IST): BOWLED! Coulter-Nile (5) cleaned up by Ashwin. DD 123/7, need 28 from 14 balls.
23:19 (IST): Fifty for Albie Morkel. Not his usual big hitting knocks, this one was a fighting effort from the veteran all-rounder batting at number three. Can he see the Daredevils through?

22:40 (IST): FOUR! Ashwin drops shot and Morkel pounces on it. Square cut goes to the boundary. Could Nehra have done better? Well, he's not known for his fielding anyway!

22:29 (IST): "Oyeeee" - goes Dhoni as that turns and bounces from Ashwin and leaves Morkel beaten all ends up. The ball is gripping on the track and this might become a tricky chase for Daredevils.
22:26 (IST): Ashwin comes on to bowl. Eight runs an over required. JP Duminy and Yuvraj Singh still in the dug-out for Daredevils but will they get enough time to bat themselves in? Has Delhi missed a trick by pushing Yuvraj down to six?
Wow old is gold nehra ji on fire . Love ur work nehra ji keep doing that ...
- Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) April 9, 2015

19:50 (IST): CSK XI looks familiar but the DD XI has two leg spinner in Amit Mishra and Imran Tahir. Against McCullum and Smith, fancy Duminy to start with one of them? Will be a big call but can work against the two big hitters.

19:23 (IST): Delhi Daredevils have managed only five wins in 30 matches over the last two seasons. No wonder they went for a complete overhaul.

19:15 (IST): Yuvraj Singh is the buzz word for the match between CSK and DD. Not only the Daredevils, the entire world will have their eyes on this stylish left-hander from India. The price tag is big but the expectations are much bigger. Can India's 2011 World Cup hero inspire the Delhi team?
Both Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils have been hogging the headlines. If CSK have been busy shedding off allegations and fighting court room drama, Delhi geared up for the IPL in style in the recently held auctions. (Chennai Super Kings Look to Put Controversies Behind)
The Daredevils ended last season as the wooden-spoon holders, a feat they are desperate to erase this year. Hence, they released as many as 13 players that boasted of names like Kevin Pietersen, Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay.
They replaced them with bigger stars. (Yuvraj Singh Deserves Every Penny Delhi Daredevils Have Spent on Him)
They splashed cash at the auction and walked out with a kitty full of superstars -- Rs 16 crore for Yuvraj Singh, 7.5 for Angelo Mathews and four for Zaheer Khan.

However, superstars don't guarantee success, team chemistry does and CSK have been the biggest example. The two-time IPL champions are one of the most successful teams in the competition history and are firm favourites to win the tournament. The Chennai based franchise has a highly settled unit and hardly makes changes to their core team.
This year too, they have made minimal changes. They have brought back the talismanic Michael Hussey and have added Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan to the side. (Irfan Pathan Injured Once Again)
No wonder, Delhi's newly appointed captain, JP Duminy, has already given CSK the upper-hand in the contest.
History too, sides with MS Dhoni's team. In 14 previous meetings, Chennai have won 10 to Delhi's four!
Going into the game, the scales are heavily tipped in favour of Chennai but the Daredevils have packed their sides with match winners.
So, will Delhi turn the tables on Chennai? Or will Chennai continue their supremacy?
