Sunrisers Hyderabad handed a eight wicket defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Captain David Warner slammed a 27-ball 57 and then Shikhar Dhawan guided the innings with an unbeaten 50. Earlier, Sunrisers won the toss and elected to field. The move almost back-fired as Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli got off to a a flying start. However, some discipline bowling from Trent Boult led to a RCB collapse and except Ab de Villiers, the entire middle order gave in. From 77/1. RCB were shot out for 166.

"We were just not good enough with the ball." - Virat Kohli
23:30 (IST): That's it! SIX to seal a victory! RCB has been deflated by a solid Sunrisers' performance tonight. Warner's men take the game by eight wickets.
23:29 (IST): SIX! Dhawan brings up his fifty in style! SRH almost home now.
23:25 (IST): Ouch! AB de Villiers goes down. Tries to stop a ball with his feet and rolls over on his ankle. He's shaken it off but that did hurt.
23:23 (IST): Sunrisers doing it in singles. Rahul and Dhawan hitting the gaps, running hard. RCB looks to have given up.
23:13 (IST): SIX! Guess what? Short again and Dhawan wallops it over the square leg boundary. This has been a very matured knock from Dhawan. Played second fiddle to a rampaging Warner, pushed the singles during the middle overs and now unleashing himself in the end.
23:11 (IST): FOUR! Short from Aaron again and nicely helped away by Rahul to the fine leg fence. It's baffling to see the RCB bowlers delivering so many short balls.
23:08 (IST): 43 runs to win from 6 overs with eight wickets in hand. Sunrisers should be favourites to win it because the RCB bowling lacks penetration and there is absolutely no energy on the field. Kohli's captaincy looks flat as well.

23:01 (IST): Less than 50 needed with eight wickets left, Sunrisers should get through comfortably here. Virat Kohli needs his pacers to stand up.
#SRH should look to close this with a couple of overs left. As we saw last year, you never know how close it can get with nrr #PepsiIPL

22:54 (IST): FOUR! Sweet connection from Rahul Dances down the track and lofts Chahal straight over his head.
22:53 (IST): FOUR! Half-tracker, Rahul swivels and pulls it over mid wicket.
22:51 (IST): Shikhar Dhawan is the key for Sunrisers. He has played a patient knock till now and should carry on.
Leg spinners and left-arm fast bowlers are the new rockstars of world cricket. Reignited the fire. I'm Loving It.

22:30 (IST): FIFTY for Dave Warner! The captain has lead from the front and has delivered serious blows to RCB.
22:22 (IST): SIX! Short and whacked over long on effortlessly! This is bad bowling from RCB bowlers. They have been short and wide, bowling on both sides of the wicket. The energy from the fielders have been low and they look a bit deflated. Kohli needs to find some inspiration here. SRH 65/0 after 6 overs.
22:17 (IST): SIX! Short and wide and Warner slashes it over the point boundary. Virat Kohli looks absolutely shocked! Now, he is changing his bat, asking for a meatier one? SRH 58/0 after 5 overs.
22:16 (IST): FOUR! And FOUR! Over the bowler's head goes Warner and then slams him through mid wicket!
This is what we feared with #RCB. The bowlers don't bat and the batsmen don't bowl. Top 5 have to get the runs! #PepsiIPL

22:10 (IST): The RCB bowlers are struggling. They are struggling with the landing area. Varun Aaron trying to get the mud off his spikes. They again, they have bowled some real gifts to the SRH openers.

21:59 (IST): FOUR! Patel strays down leg and Warner helps it over short fine leg.
21:56 (IST): FOUR more! Dhawan now goes leg-side. Nicely flicked off his toe. SRH 16/0 after 1 over.

21:34 (IST): FOUR! Aaron using the long handle. Slaps it over mid on.
21:26 (IST): Three wickets in the over! This is devastating for the RCB. Boult picks up AB, Abbott and Harshal Patel! Even Anushka can't believe it!
21:24 (IST): FOUR! Abbott showing his skills with the willow. Important runs for RCB
21:21 (IST): SIX! Full toss on leg stump. That's a gift for Abbott!
21:19 (IST): FOUR! Full toss outside off stump and De Villiers slams it to the cover boundary. RCB 134/5 after 17 overs.
21:17 (IST): RCB need stellar knock from De Villiers here. Sean Abbott is with him for company but RCB look thin on batting.

21:12 (IST): BOWLED! Ashish Reddy knocks over Darren Sammy (6). RCB 125/5 (16 overs)
21:09 (IST): SIX! De Villiers sweeps and deposits Karn Sharma over deep backward square leg.
21:02 (IST): SIX! Oh, that was close! De Villiers pulls Bopara, Dhawan catches the ball at long-on but steps over the ropes!
© BCCI
22:57 (IST): WHAT.A.CATCH! Bopara on a hat-trick - Stunning catch from David Warner to remove Mandeep for a duck! Mandeep tries to flick off his legs, gets a leading edge, Warner dives at covers and plucks it out one handed. Phew! Some catch that! RCB 93/4 after 12 overs.
22:56 (IST): BOWLED! Bopara disturbs Kohli's (41) stumps! Tries to give himself room and missed the line. Big wicket. RCB 93/3 after 11.5 overs
22:51 (IST): FOUR! Hammered through covers by De Villiers. Poor bowling from Bopara and now, he edges one through slips!

22:48 (IST): OUT! Karthik (9) top edges a sweep from Karn Sharma as Williamson completes the catch. RCB 77/2

19:15 (IST): Good news! The rain has finally cleared up at Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bangalore began their Indian Premier League campaign by beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings while the Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings.

It's still early days in IPL 2015. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have lost, Mumbai Indians, the team with the best brains in the business, have lost twice and Delhi Daredevils, the team with the costliest star in their ranks, are yet to get off the mark. Can Sunrisers Hyderabad afford a second defeat on-the-trot? (High-Flying RCB Look to Tame Shaky SRH)
Man-to-man, RCB's roster is twinkling with the best limited overs batsmen in the world. Hyderabad have the World Cup's best bowler in their rank, New Zealander Trent Boult. Add Dale Steyn to Boult and it perhaps makes for the best new-ball attack in IPL. But will the South African make the Hyderabad XI? Steyn did not play the first match against Chennai Super Kings that Hyderabad lost by 45 runs. (Virat Kohli Rates RCB's Win Over KKR Highly)

Sunrisers will be worried about their bowling. Of the four Chennai wickets they took on Saturday, three were run outs. Ishant Sharma went for 46 in his three overs and leg-spinner Karn Sharma conceded 51 in his four. They can't afford this 'luxury' against a batting line-up that has Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. (Social Media Slams Gavaskar for 'is She Here' Question to Virat Kohli)
Gayle has struck form. RCB will look for consistency for this big Jamaican. Gayle slammed a 56-ball 96 versus KKR to win his record 16th MOM award in IPLs. De Villiers, after a dream World Cup, will look to fire while skipper Kohli needs runs to silence his critics. RCB's batting must add muscle to Gayle's power.
