A brilliant spell of bowling from Trent Boult saw Sunrisers Hyderabad defend 150 against Kings XI Punjab Mohali. The Kiwi pacer, along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar restricted the Punjab batsmen to 130/9 to hand Hyderabad a 20-run win.
Earlier, Kings XI Punjab restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to a gettable 150/6 after the Hyderabad middle-order failed to fire again. The Hyderabad captain, David Warner got off to a blistering start but the batsmen to follow couldn't capitalise on it. Mitch Johnson and Axar Patel were the pick of the bowlers for Punjab. 22:00: BOWLED! Vohra Boult-ed! Full delivery outside off, goes for the expansive drive and drags his back o his stumps. KXIP 10/1 (2.3 overs)

21:55: FOUR! Vohra gives the charge to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and goes over covers inside-out.
21:50: Good start from Boult. Wrapping Vijay on the pads once, getting a touch of swing. KXIP 4/0 after 1st over.

21:30: That's it! 150/6, single off the last ball. Bailey would be very pleased with his bowlers, especially after the Warner show. Hyderabad has limped to 150 and now will need a big effort from their bowling unit.
21:29: SIX more! Slower ball and slogged over by Reddy.
21:28: SIX! Missed the yorker and Reddy gets under it. Slogs it over wide long on.
21:26: BOWLED! Absolutely fantastic bowling from Sandeep. 50th wicket for him. Henriques tries the scoop over fine leg but Sandeep gets the yorker spot on. Stumps shattered!
21:21: Hyderabad can't get the ball off the square! Mishits galore and Punjab is tightening the screws on their innings. Anureet doing a fine job. The middle-order has let Sunrisers down, again!
21:16: OUT! Johnson gets Bopara fending to Saha behind for a duck! This is all going pear-shaped for Hyderabad. SRH 123/5 (17.2 over)
21:10: OUT! Naman Ojha (28) finds Miller at long-on. Axar Patel gets his 2nd wicket of the night. SRH 121/4 (16.4 overs)
© BCCI
21:09: FOUR! Henriques comes down the track and forces Axar over long on.
21:07: FOUR more! Bad bowling from Anureet. Short ball with fine leg inside the ring. Ojha swivels and helps it to the long leg fence.
21:06: FOUR! Finally Naman Ojha breaks the shackles. Takes Anureet on and goes over cover.
21:04: Still no boundaries. Axar Patel is doing a marvellous job here for Punjab. SRH 104/3 after 15 overs
21:01: Runs are trickling in for Hyderabad as Mitchell Johnson delivers yet another tight over. Sunrisers need a move on.
21:00: Kings XI have pulled Hyderabad back here. The track is nice and even but the Kings XI bowlers have varied their pace cleverly. Tom Moody, the Hyderabad coach, doesn't look too happy with the batting, though!

22:50: Anureet Singh has been spot on with his length. After the initial burst from Warner, the Kings XI bowlers are slowly clawing back in the game. The Sunrisers' middle-order will be tested. They have shown some frailties and collapsed in more than one occasion.
22:45: OUT! Warner (58) chips the ball straight to Miller at long-on. Timed it too well. Axar gets the big wicket. The slower bowlers have done a job for Punjab here. Both Vijay and Axar have put a lid on the scoring. SRH 76/3 (9.5 overs)
22:40: David Warner gets to his 20th IPL FIFTY off 35 balls. He's been in good form this IPL and looks to carry on. Punjab needs to send him back, NOW!
20: 33: The change of pace has curtailed the runs a bit. Vijay and Axar delivered two good overs for Punjab. Warner looking to nudge the singles. SRH 65/2 after 8 overs.
20:28: OUT! Vihari (9) mistimes pull to Vohra off Anureet at mid-wicket. SRH 56/2 after 6 overs.
© BCCI
20:22: FOUR! Shot from Sandeep and Warner pulls. No chance for mid-wicket. Warner on fire! SRH 46/1 after 5 overs.
20:21: FOUR! Through the cover! Warner is taking Punjab apart.
20:20: FOUR! Over the bowler's head. The ball wasn't there to be hit but doesn't matter, hits through the line.
20:19: FOUR! Pitched up by Sandeep and Warner pounces on it again. He's going for the bowling.
20:16: FOUR! Best of the lot! Pitched up from Johnson and Warner just pushes it past mid on. Pure timing that.
20:15: SIX! Backs away and top-edges it over third-man. Warner clearly going for his Aussie team-mate.
20:15: FOUR! Through the off-side goes Warner. Taking Johnson on.
© BCCI
20:12: FOUR! Warner times it through covers. Slightly off-the-mark Sandeep and Warner takes advantage.
20:10: OUT! Dhawan (1) caught at first slip by Vijay off Johnson. Tried to pull, got into an awkward position and the edge loops to the first slip. SRH 10/1 (1.5)
20:06: FOUR! Much better! Over cover goes Warner. Johnson pitches it up and whack.
20:05: FOUR! Warner charges Johnson and throws his bat at the ball. Outside edge flies over wicket-keeper.
20:00: Here we go, Sandeep Sharma with the new ball. Warner and Dhawan out for Hyderabad. Big appeal from Sandeep, good movement off-the-track but that one pitched outside leg. And he bowls a maiden, cracking first over! Teasing, testing - top bowling from the young man.

19:45: Massive changes in the teams. Punjab leave Sehwag out while Hyderabad keeps Steyn on the bench! Not a big surprise though., both Steyn and Sehwag haven't lit the scene on fire and on current form none of the two warrant a place in the side.

19:30: Toss time - Punjab opt to bowl first at Mohali. Both teams are locked 2-2 on head-to-head. Dale Steyn and KL Rahul misses out for Hyderabad. Ashish Reddy and Moises Henriques make the cut. For Punjab, Manan Vohra and Rishi Dhawan get a look in.
19:15: The IPL caravan moves to Mohali for the first time this season. Kings XI Punjab are finally back on their original home ground and right now they need all the support they can get from their supporters. The Punjab side is languishing at the bottom of the table and will be looking to surge ahead against an inconsistent Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Last season, Kings XI Punjab was the team to look out. This season, not quite. It all has gone wrong for Priety Zinta's side. Neither the batsmen have fired nor the bowlers have stepped up. No wonder, the George Bailey-led franchise is placed at the bottom of the table.
The Punjab stars Virender Sehwag, David Miller, Shaun Marsh and Glenn Maxwell haven't had much influence in the tournament. Although, Miller and Marsh have flickered occasionally, Maxwell and Sehwag have been massive letdowns. In fact, the explosive Aussie all-rounder was even dropped against the Chennai Super Kings. Sunrisers Hyderabad too, aren't doing too well. Although, their star openers Shikhar Dhawan and skipper David Warner has been consistent, the lack of steel in the middle-order has stung the Hyderabad franchise. They have collapsed once too often and the likes of Kane Williamson, Ravi Bopara and Eoin Morgan have done precious little. (Lokesh Rahul Urges Hyderabad's Batsmen to 'Wake Up')
Their bowling looks a tad better. Even though the Dale Steyn-Trent Boult pair has been viewed as the 'dream' new-ball partnership, it's Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has been the most consistent.
Both teams need points and it will be interesting to see if the first game at the Mohali turns the tide in favour of Punjab.
