West Indies Tests: Approaching milestones ahead of Sachin Tendulkar's farewell match
Sachin Tendulkar will become the first cricketer in the annals of Test cricket to appear in 200 matches, when he plays the West Indies from November 14-18 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Here is a list of approaching milestones that lie ahead of Sachin as he prepares for his last two Tests.

Sachin Tendulkar would become the first cricketer in the annals of Test cricket to appear in 200 Tests, when he plays the Mumbai Test against West Indies in November 2013. Here is the list of approaching milestones that lie ahead of Sachin as he prepares for his last two Tests.
He would leave the Test arena with yet another world record. Prior to the Test series against West Indies, he shares the record for appearing in most Tests at home with Ponting of Australia. Both have played 92 Tests. Kolkata Test would be his 93rd Test at home and his farewell Test at Mumbai would be his 94th Test at home. Thus he would bid farewell with a world record of 94 Tests at home. Ricky Ponting and Tendulkar are the only two cricketers to have played 90 plus Tests at home.
# Tendulkar if he plays four innings in two Tests - at Kolkata and at Mumbai - would be adding four innings to his 151 innings at home to take his number of innings to 155. He would then be going past Ponting who has played 154 innnings. Thus the second innings at Mumbai will be his 155th innings (if he plays three innings prior to his second innings) and would bid farewell to Test arena with another world record - 155 innings at home. Ponting and Tendulkar are the only two cricketers to have played 150 plus innings at home.
# Tendulkar and VVS Laxman have scored eight fifties at Kolkata. One more fifty to Tendulkar would be his ninth fifty and with it he would own the record for most fifties at Kolkata - nine fifties.
# Tendulkar has an aggregate of 862 runs at Kolkata and requires 38 more runs for his 900 runs. If he gets them, he would then become the third batsman to total 900 plus runs at Kolkata. Others are - Laxman (1217) and Rahul Dravid (962).
# Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar have scored eight fifties at Mumbai - Wankhede Stadium. One more fifty to Tendulkar would be his ninth fifty and with it he would own the record for most fifties at Wankhede Stadium - nine fifties.
# Tendulkar has an aggregate of 847 runs at Wankhede Stadium and requires 53 more runs for his 900 runs. If he gets them, he would then become the second batsman to total 900 plus runs at Wankhede Stadium after Gavaskar who has an aggregate of 1122 runs.
# Tendulkar's farewell appearance at Wankhede Stadium would be his eleventh appearance at the venue. He would then share the record for most appearances at Mumbai-WS with Gavaskar who has played eleven Tests.
# Tendulkar has scored 22 hundreds at home. One more hundred in the four innings in two Tests, would make him to share the record with Ponting who has scored 23 hundreds at home. Two more hundreds in four innings of two Tests, he would own the record for most hundreds at home with 24 hundreds to his credit.
# Tendulkar has been dismissed bowled in his Test career on 54 occasions. Two more such occasions would give him 56 bowled dismissals. He would then own the record of most bowled dismissals in the annals of Test cricket. He would go past Dravid who has been dismissed bowled on 55 occasions and hold the record for most bowled dismissals.
# Tendulkar has been dismissed bowled in his Test career on 27 occasions at home. Two more such occasions would give him 29 bowled dismissals. He would then own the Indian record of most bowled dismissals at home in the annals of Test cricket. He would go past Dravid who has been dismissed bowled on 28 occasions and holds the record for most bowled dismissals by an Indian batsman at home. Allan Border of Australia holds the record for most bowled dismissals at home with 31 dismissals. Three more bowled dismissals for Tendulkar, he would become the second batsman to be dismissed for 30 plus bowled dismissals at home after Border who has been dismissed at home for 31 bowled dismissals.
# Tendulkar has been dismissed bowled on eight occasions after scoring a fifty (4 hundreds and 4 fifties) at home. Two more bowled dismissals after registering fifties would give him ten such dismissals at home and with it an Indian record for most bowled dismissals at home with a fifty. He would then go past the present record holder Dravid who has been dismissed on nine occasions. If he gets bowled after scoring a fifty on three occasions in the ensuing two Tests, he would share the record of most bowled dismissals with a fifty at home with Border of Australia who has been dismissed on eleven occasions.
# Tendulkar's run aggregate against West Indies at home read 926. He needs 74 more runs for his 1000 runs. If he gets it, he would then become the fourth Indian batsman to score 1000 plus runs against West Indies at home. Others are - Gavaskar (1345), Dilip Vengsarkar (1147) and GR Viswanath (1065).
# The first Test at Kolkata would be the 20th Test for Tendulkar against West Indies. He would become the ninth Indian cricketer to play 20 plus Tests against West Indies. Others are - Gavaskar (27), Kapil Dev (25), Vengsarkar (25), Dravid (23), S Venkataraghavan (23), Anshuman Gaekwad (22), Laxman (22) and Syed Kirmani (21).
# Tendulkar has an aggregate of 1546 runs against West Indies prior to the start of the ensuing Test series. He needs 54 more runs for his 1600 runs. If he gets it, he would then become the fourth Indian batsman to total 1600 plus runs against West Indies. Others are - Gavaskar (2749), Dravid (1978) and Laxman (1715).
# Tendulkar has scored four half centuries at home against West Indies. Two more half centuries in the ensuing Test series would fetch him six half centuries and with it the record for most half centuries at home against West Indies. He would go past RS Modi and Viswanath who have scored five half centuries.
# Tendulkar has scored nine half centuries against West Indies. One more half century would fetch him his tenth half century and with it he would become the fourth Indian batsman to score ten or more half centuries against West Indies. Others are - Dravid (13), Laxman (11) and Polly Umrigar (10).
# Tendulkar has pouched 16 catches against West Indies prior to the start of the ensuing Test series. He requires four more catches for his 20 catches. If he gets it, he would then become the fourth Indian fieldsman to take 20 catches against West Indies. Others are - Dravid (26), Mohd Azharuddin (20) and Eknath Solkar (20).
# Tendulkar has pouched 47 catches at home prior to the start of the ensuing series against West Indies. He needs three more catches for his 50 catches. If he gets them, he would then become the fifth Indian fieldsman to pouch 50 plus catches at home. Others are - Dravid (98), Laxman (61), Azharuddin (51) and Gavaskar (51).
# Tendulkar has an aggregate of 491 runs when India batted in the second innings of a Test against West Indies. He needs nine more runs for his 500 runs. # Tendulkar has scored 5862 runs in 70 Tests which India has won, He needs 138 more runs to total 6000 plus runs in a team's winning Tests. If he gets them in India's winning Tests, he would then become the first Indian batman to score 6000 plus runs in India's winning Tests.
# Tendulkar has scored 3845 runs in 50 winning Tests at home. He needs 155 more runs for his 4000 runs. If he gets it, he would then become the first batsman in the annals of Test cricket to total 600 plus runs in a team's winning Tests at home.
