Kevin Pietersen, Graeme Swann left out of England T20I squad
Stuart Meaker, the Surrey paceman, was included in the T20I squad that will be led by Stuart Broad, while Jonny Bairstow will take over the wicketkeeping duties from Craig Kieswetter, who was left out of the T20Is due to poor form, but was included in the ODI squad. Luke Wright, the allrounder, was also a part of the T20I squad. England's think-tank are surely working overtime to find the right combinations for their national squads amidst excessive workloads and burnout fears.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday (November 28) announced 13-man and 15-man squads respectively for the Twenty20 International and One-Day International series against India.
Kevin Pietersen was rested for the two T20Is to be played in Pune (December 20) and Mumbai (December 22), while Graeme Swann was left out of the entire limited-overs leg of the India tour. The England players return home after the T20Is for Christmas and come back to India in January for the five ODIs.
Michael Lumb, the Hampshire opener who was a part of the victorious Sydney Sixers squad in the Champions League Twenty20 2012 in October, also found a place in the T20I team, while Daniel Briggs and James Tredwell were named as the specialist spinners in both line-ups in the absence of Swann. Samit Patel was also expected to pitch in as a spinner. Jade Dernbach, the Surrey pacer, was named in both teams as well.
"We are constantly looking to manage the workload of players as effectively as possible and this winter is no different," said Geoff Miller, the ECB National Selector. "So there are a number of players who are being rested for parts of the winter programme to enable them to take part in fitness and conditioning programmes in preparation for a busy 2013.
"We know that playing limited-overs cricket in India can be challenging but the T20 and ODI series provide an excellent opportunity for these players to show that they have learnt valuable lessons from the last ODI series against India and improved as players in subcontinent conditions.
"We have selected squads containing experienced international players alongside younger players who have impressed playing for England Lions and the England Performance Programme recently and who deserve an opportunity to establish themselves in the England side."
