Vinay Kumar has suffered a hamstring strain. He himself had replaced an injured L Balaji.

New Delhi:

Abhimanyu Mithun will replace an injured R Vinay Kumar who himself had replaced L Balaji in the squad chosen for India's T20 matches against England.

Vinay Kumar is suffering from a hamstring strain and will not recover in time for the two T20s scheduled to be played on December 20 and 22, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement.

The 28-year-old bowler had been chosen to replace Balaji who had suffered a stress injury to his right big toe and while Vinay Kumar with his 17 wickets for Karnataka in four Ranji matches this season made him a confident choice, Mithun will now take his place.
