Former Indian captain and cricket expert Sunil Gavaskar blamed the BCCI for players' complacency regarding their position in the Indian team.

Former Indian captain and cricket expert Sunil Gavaskar blamed the BCCI for players' complacency regarding their position in the Indian team.

Making his views clear on the club vs country debate, the Little Master said, "It is the players prerogative to decide whether he wants to rest during the IPL or during India's tour. If a player rests during an Indian tour then the selectors should be strong enough not to select that player for future tours".

This comes after senior players like skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan had to be excluded from the one-day squad for the Windies tour either due to injury or the requests to rest. All these players had however, featured in the near-two-month IPL 4 season.
