A rather inexperienced Australian side may be leading many to put bets on India against Michael Clarke and his team but former pacer Glen McGrath is confident of the seamers coming good for the hosts in the opening Test in Melbourne, which begins December 26.
Drawing references from the Hobart Test against New Zealand in which Australia collapsed to a defeat, McGrath said he noticed the pacers hitting the right spot and keeping the pressure up on the Kiwi batsmen. "I think they're getting it right," he was quoted as saying by The Sun-Herald. "They're hitting the right areas and keeping the pressure on the batsmen."
The legendary fast bowler chose to specifically mention Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and James Pattinson. "You look at the young fast bowlers who are coming through - 18-year-old Cummins, Starc [21] and Pattinson [21] - they have all been very impressive. Pattinson and Cummins have done especially well," he said adding that he hoped an injured Cummins gets back to full fitness at the earliest.
