# Ben Hilfenhaus is the leading wicket-taker after the first two Tests, claiming 15 wickets at an average of 18,06.
# Hilfenhaus' excellent figures of 5 for 106 are his second instance of five wickets in an innings - his second in successive Tests. He had claimed 5 for 75 against India in the Melbourne Test.
# Hilfenhaus (8/157) has recorded his best bowling figures in a Test match, eclipsing the 7 for 114 against India at Melbourne in December last year.
# Ravichandran Ashwin's 62 off 76 balls is his highest innings overseas, surpassing the 31 at MCG in the first Test of the present series.
# Michael Clarke has received the Man of the Match for the fourth time in Tests.
# India (400) have posted their highest second innings total at SCG, bettering the 261 in January 2000.
