# Australia's 659 for four wickets declared is their second highest total against India, next only to the 674 at Adelaide in January 1948.
# Australia have recorded their highest total against India at SCG, obliterating the 552 for five wickets declared in January 2000.
# Australia have equalled their highest total at SCG - they had made 659 for eight wickets declared against England in December 1946. These two Australian totals are the second highest at this venue, next only to the 705 for seven wickets declared by India against Australia in January 2004.
# Eight totals of 600 or more have been recorded at SCG. Australia have posted three (one each against England, West Indies and India) while India and England have recorded two each and one by the West Indies.
# Michael Clarke has established a record for posting the highest individual innings at SCG, obliterating the 287 by Tip Foster for England against Australia in December 1903.
